Audio guide for tourist trains

Your tourist train tells the story of the route. In every language.

A dedicated app that manages the tour commentary: the story starts at the right moment, through the onboard speakers or on each passenger’s smartphone.

How it works

Choose where it’s heard and how the story starts

The driver’s tablet: stories started with a tap

Through the onboard speakers

One story for everyone, from the train’s sound system.

  • Manually

The driver starts the content from the onboard tablet or smartphone.

  • Automatically

The content starts on its own when the train reaches the point.

On passengers’ smartphones

Everyone listens in their own language, with headphones, in sync with the route.

  • Manually

The operator starts the content and all connected passengers hear it together.

  • Automatically

Each piece of content plays on passengers’ smartphones as the train passes the point.

Commentary always on time, for every passenger

  • Always on time

The story follows the route, not the driver’s finger.

  • In every language

Italians, British and Germans on the same train, each in their own language.

  • Clear audio

With headphones it sounds clear even in traffic and at the back of the train.

  • The driver drives

Fewer things to think about during the tour.

What it does

TrainXpress features

  • An app dedicated to your tour

The driver uses it on board to manage the commentary; passengers open it on their own smartphones.

  • Geolocated activation

The points of the route are on the map: the story starts on its own when the train gets there.

  • Always up-to-date content

Change a text or a stop without recording new audio tracks.

  • On any tourist train

In cities, historic centres, seaside and mountain resorts, and parks.

Pilot project

A train in a safari park in Piedmont

The route is divided into four zones, each with its own introduction. When an animal comes into view, the driver plays its story through the train’s speakers.

Frequently asked questions about the audio guide for tourist trains

What is TrainXpress?

It’s GuideXpress’s app for tourist trains: it manages the tour’s audio commentary, through the onboard speakers or on each passenger’s smartphone, in their own language.

Speakers or passengers’ smartphones: which is better?

It depends on the tour. Speakers deliver a single story to the whole train; smartphones let each passenger listen in their own language, with headphones, even in traffic.

Does the story start on its own?

Yes, if you choose geolocated activation: each piece of content starts when the train reaches the point on the route. Alternatively, the driver starts it manually from the onboard tablet or smartphone.

Who prepares the content?

We can write and produce it for you, with professional voices, or start from your own texts.

Does it work on a train inside a park?

Yes. Our pilot project is a train in a safari park in Piedmont: an introduction for each zone and, when an animal comes into view, the driver plays its story through the onboard speakers.

How much does TrainXpress cost?

It depends on the route and on the number of stops and languages. Fill in the “Request information” form: we’ll get back to you to learn about your tour and send you a tailored proposal.
